Disconnecting ProfileDesk

Two easy ways to disconnect ProfileDesk from your Google Business Profile — in the app, or from your Google Account — and immediately stop all API access.

Disconnecting ProfileDesk

You can disconnect ProfileDesk from your Google Business Profile whenever you wish. There are two ways to do this, and both are quick. You can use whichever you prefer, they achieve the same result: ProfileDesk immediately loses access to your profile.

This guide covers both methods clearly.

What “disconnect” means

When you disconnect, you revoke the permission you granted during setup. From that moment, ProfileDesk can no longer read your reviews, post updates, or view your data. The connection is closed on Google’s side straight away.

Method 1: Disconnect from inside ProfileDesk

The easiest way is right within the app:

  1. Open ProfileDesk on the web or Android.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open the Connections section (this may also appear under Account).
  4. Find your connected Google Business Profile and tap the “Disconnect” button.
  5. Confirm when prompted.

Once confirmed, ProfileDesk stops accessing your Google account immediately.

Method 2: Disconnect from your Google Account directly

You can also remove ProfileDesk’s access straight from Google, without opening ProfileDesk at all. This is useful if you no longer have the app installed, and it is the method Google itself recommends for managing app permissions.

  1. Go to your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
  2. Open the Security section.
  3. Scroll to “Your connections to third-party apps & services.” You can also reach this page directly at myaccount.google.com/connections or myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  4. In the list of apps, select ProfileDesk.
  5. Choose “Delete all connections” (or “Remove access”).
  6. Confirm your choice.

Google will immediately revoke ProfileDesk’s access to your profile.

Access stops right away

With either method, revoking access takes effect immediately. ProfileDesk’s access key becomes invalid at once, and no further data can be read or changed. There is no waiting period for the connection to close.

Disconnecting vs. deleting your account

Disconnecting only closes the link between ProfileDesk and Google. Your ProfileDesk account and any settings you saved will still exist, so you can reconnect later if you change your mind.

If you also want your ProfileDesk account and stored data removed, see the “Deleting Your Account and Data” article. Note that disconnecting stops access immediately, even before a full data deletion is completed.

Reconnecting later

Changed your mind? You can reconnect any time by opening ProfileDesk and following the steps in “Connecting Your Google Business Profile.” You will simply approve access again on Google’s consent screen.

A quick reminder

ProfileDesk is an independent app from TechToHighTech and is not affiliated with Google. It connects using Google’s official APIs, and you always keep the power to disconnect on your own terms.
