Connecting Your Google Business Profile
Welcome to ProfileDesk! Before you can manage your reviews, posts, and business information, you need to connect your Google Business Profile. This is a one-time setup that takes just a couple of minutes. This guide walks you through every step in plain language.
Before you begin
Make sure you already have a verified Google Business Profile. This is the free business listing that appears on Google Search and Google Maps. If you can search for your business on Google and see your details, reviews, and a “Your business is verified” note in your Google account, you are ready.
If you do not have a profile yet, create and verify one at google.com/business first, then come back here.
You will also need the Google account (email and password) that owns or manages the business listing.
Step-by-step: connect your profile
- Open ProfileDesk in your web browser or Android app and log in.
- On the dashboard, tap or click the “Connect Google Business Profile” button.
- You will be taken to Google’s own sign-in page. Choose the Google account that manages your business.
- Google will show you a consent screen. This is where you review exactly what ProfileDesk is asking permission to do, such as reading and replying to your reviews, creating posts, and viewing your performance insights.
- Read the permissions carefully. When you are comfortable, tap “Allow” or “Continue” to approve access.
- Google sends you back to ProfileDesk, and your business locations, reviews, posts, and performance data begin to sync automatically.
That’s it. Once syncing finishes, your dashboard fills with your live business information.
Your password is always safe
You may notice that you type your password on Google’s website, never inside ProfileDesk. This is intentional and important.
ProfileDesk uses OAuth, the official and secure way that Google lets apps connect. With OAuth, you sign in directly with Google, and Google hands ProfileDesk a limited, revocable access key. ProfileDesk never sees, stores, or asks for your Google password. You stay in full control and can remove access at any time.
What ProfileDesk syncs
After you approve access, ProfileDesk pulls in:
- Your locations — every business location you manage, ready to switch between.
- Reviews — so you can read and reply from one place.
- Posts — to create and schedule updates for your customers.
- Performance data — views, searches, and other insights about how customers find you.
A note on independence
ProfileDesk is an independent product built by TechToHighTech. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of Google. It simply connects to your profile using Google’s official Google Business Profile APIs, the same trusted method Google provides for approved apps.
Trouble connecting?
- No businesses appear? Make sure you signed in with the Google account that actually manages the listing.
- Permission denied? Return to the dashboard and tap “Connect” again, making sure to select “Allow” on the consent screen.
- Still stuck? Reach out to our support team and we will help you get connected.
Once connected, head to your dashboard to start replying to reviews and creating posts.
